The International Mathematical Excellence Olympiad (IMEO) is an international online academic mathematics competition conducted exclusively for university students.
Participation in IMEO is individual. Team participation is not permitted.
The official working language of the Olympiad is English.
Participation in IMEO is open to:
Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) students
Graduate (Master’s) students
Doctoral (PhD) students
Participants must be enrolled in a recognized higher education institution at the time of registration.
The organizing committee reserves the right to request proof of university enrollment for verification purposes.
IMEO is conducted entirely online
Participants complete a timed set of mathematics problems
Problems are designed at university academic level
Each participant works independently
The exact duration, number of problems, and scoring system are announced prior to the competition.
IMEO follows strict principles of academic honesty and integrity.
Participants must:
Solve all problems independently
Avoid plagiarism and unauthorized collaboration
Not use external assistance, automated tools, or prohibited resources
Any form of academic misconduct may result in:
Immediate disqualification
Invalidation of results
Revocation of certificates
Decisions of the organizing committee regarding academic integrity are final.
Participants are responsible for ensuring:
Stable internet connection
Access to a suitable device (computer or laptop recommended)
Ability to access the online Olympiad platform
The organizers are not responsible for technical issues beyond their control, including internet disruptions or device failures.
All answers must be submitted through the official online platform
Late submissions are not accepted
Once submitted, answers cannot be modified
Participants are advised to manage their time carefully during the competition.
Submissions are evaluated according to predefined academic criteria
Results are verified before publication
Final results are announced on the official IMEO website
The evaluation process is designed to be fair, transparent, and consistent.
All registered participants who complete the Olympiad receive an official digital certificate of participation.
Participants demonstrating high academic performance may receive certificates of excellence.

Level of participation (University level)
Date of the Olympiad
Unique certificate identification number

A participant may be disqualified if:
Eligibility requirements are not met
False information is provided during registration
Rules of academic integrity are violated
Disqualified participants are not entitled to certificates or result recognition.
The organizing committee reserves the right to:
Modify the rules or format if necessary
Cancel or reschedule the Olympiad in exceptional circumstances
